Fares from the airports to the Claremont Hotel
From SFO: $34 each way
From OAK: $25 each way.
You can make advanced reservations for an airport shuttle from the BayPorter Express, which is the recommended shuttle service serving both Airports. At SFO, they pick up from the baggage area; as soon as you pick up your luggage, you can call them for a reservation. Their first pick up in 4:30 am; their last pick-up in 10:00 pm at night. Additional shuttle, limousine, and taxi service information for transportation outside of these times may be found at the San Francisco and the Oakland Airport Websites.
TAXI SERVICE
From the airports: you will need to use an Airport Taxi; these queue up at designated areas at the airport. Please check the airport websites for details. The fares will run roughly:
From SFO: About $80 +
From OAKLAND: About $45
To set up a return taxi time to the airport, you can arrange this directly with the Claremont Hotel Concierge Desk; who will make arrangements with Coit Transportation for your return via taxi. The rates will be roughly the same as the trip out.

From the Oakland Airport
Go straight out of the airport on Airport Blvd. Turn right on Hegenberger Road. From Hegenberger follow signs for 880 North. From Hwy 880 North, follow signs for Hwy 24 to Walnut Creek. Take the Claremont Avenue exit, turning left at the bottom of the exit onto Claremont. Turn right on Ashby Avenue (5th stoplight) and the Hotel's entrance is two blocks ahead on the left.
From the San Francisco Airport
Follow signs for Hwy 101 North to San Francisco, take Hwy 80 East to the Bay Bridge to Oakland. Cross Bay Bridge on Hwy 80, follow to 580 East, and exit onto HWY 24 to Berkeley/Walnut Creek. Take the Claremont Avenue exit, turning left at the bottom of the exit onto Claremont. Turn right on Ashby Avenue (5th stoplight) and the Hotel's entrance is two blocks ahead on the left.
From the Northeast Direction Heading Southwest On Hwy 80
Take Hwy 80 South to Ashby Avenue exit. Follow Ashby up about three miles to the Hotel entrance on your left.
From the West Direction Heading East On 80 Across The Bay Bridge
Cross Bay Bridge on Hwy 80, follow to 580 East, and exit onto HWY 24 to Berkeley/Walnut Creek. Take the Claremont Avenue exit, turning left at the bottom of the exit onto Claremont. Turn right on Ashby Avenue (5th stoplight) and the Hotel's entrance is two blocks ahead on the left.
From the West Direction Heading East Over Richmond Bridge
Take Hwy 580 East over bridge to Hwy 80 West. Take the Ashby Avenue exit. Follow Ashby up about three miles to the Hotel entrance on your left.
San Mateo Bridge
Take Hwy 92 East over bridge, connect with Hwy 880 North. From Hwy 880 North, follow signs for Hwy 24 to Walnut Creek. Take the Claremont Avenue exit, turning left at the bottom of the exit onto Claremont. Turn right on Ashby Avenue (5th stoplight) and the Hotel's entrance is two blocks ahead on the left.
PARKING INFORMATION
The ISTTT has a discounted rate of parking for our symposium guests at the Claremont Hotel:
Overnight parking
$18 per night (instead of $24).
Please let them know at the front desk when you check in if that you need this.
Day Parking:
Special ISTTT rate: $14
To get this rate, please tell the parking attendant that you are with the ISTTT.
If you are just coming in for a few hours, you should check the hourly rates posted, in case this turns out to be more cost effective.
